Cabbage And Carrotsby jrjrComment by macrothing: 6 - Good potential. More carrots (and variation in lighting on them &/or wetting them too), for added color and balance (else no carrot), a tighter crop, variation in composition (again for balance) and the 'something' dark on the left removed/cropped out, make this even better in my opinion. |

Me And My Shadowby jrjrComment by Konador: I don't like the gaussian blur applied on the background, I think it ruins the shot. Other than that, it's very good. |

Cabbage And Carrotsby jrjrComment by srbrubaker: Cropped above the carrot, this is by far my favorite photo of cabbage. The crinkles and the many shades of green are quite marvelous. Black background is goo. As for the carrot, IMO that would be a 2 pt deduction if it could not so easily be chopped off the photo, Even if it might have added color or some other quality to the composition, the blown highlignts ( or just about ) is the last thing to include in a photo about texture... Sorry about the rant, I like the cabbage. |

Cabbage And Carrotsby jrjrComment by rox_rox: Wow! The cabbage is so "textury". My first instinct was to reach out and touch it. Great tonality, nice detail and colors. Personally the carrot doesn't do much for me, except pull my eye out of the shot. My inclination would be to do more carrot or none. Really nice, regardless. |
