My Hidden Flawsby KaralewComment by Canadian_eh: Really liking this one! I'm personaly a big fan of high/medium contrast B&W portraits (wow, that was a mouthful ;-)) Personaly i thiknk there are a couple things you could have done without showing your chin ;-) 1) Offcentered crop- I'd crop maybe 20-30pixels off your finger on the right. This (IMHO) makes most shots appear more "clean" and especialy in your case make you "part of the canvas" by making your hair actualy bind and appear to the the canvas.
2) On my monitor i can see a couple imperfections in the black background to the left... simple cloning
I hope i gave you a little to concider for your next shoot! |

edit-it.jpgby KaralewComment by SandyP: This is beautiful. I love the dark feel to it -- yet youhaven't lost an ounce of detail. I really like the composition too.

I Shall Not Be Movedby KaralewComment by fencekicker: Is this actually across the road or is it along the edge of it? I think the color version probably would have been much better because the green of the trees would help your rocks/mud stand out from the background better. |

Back shotby KaralewComment by L1: This is nice, Kim. I like the tones you've chosen and they work well with the softness of the light. I think the pose is great as well. I would suggest a couple of things...first, instead of being just centered and directly behind her, I'd move back, get either lower or higher, and off to the right a step or two more if possible. I'd include more of the arms in the shot and allow the light to "model" around her form. For the processing, perhaps a tiny bit more contrast would help it pop more, and I might go so far as to add a soft-focus filter or something to enhance the delicate nature of the image. You're really on the right track and I like this a lot as it is. :) |

I Shall Not Be Movedby KaralewComment by atupdate: Although the rock is very prominate in this image, it is hard to figure out what is the main subject of the photo. My eye constantly goes to the background looking for a main subject because there is more contrast there. |
