Awesome shot. Like the composition and tilt (lends itself to "running full tilt..."). I think you may be able to lighten the shot and saturate the colors a bit more.

Even if you don't want to crop in as tight as the other one, you could still crop a fair amount from this one without losing the bigger context. Be sure to check out my post on the other shot - I don't think you'll be disappointed. Same thing could be done to this shot.

You mean like this? instead of ?
This is a fantastic shot, but when you do an extreme crop from a larger shot, the noise will eat you alive. There is no way the more distant shot does this justice.
Allow me to pass along a tip from a fellow dpc-er - check out either Neat Image or Noise Ninja. The above was done with the free version of Neat Image using Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 (and I don't know how to use anything but the most basic functionality - I did a sharpen slightly OOF and reduce noise). You might even be able to get it better than I did.
Other than the noise, this is a great shot and great capture - worthy of publication.

Look at this shot and compare it with your race car shots - you can clearly see the difference in quality. First, this is a tough shooting condition - bright light on the front / right side, deep shade from the trees, shooting into the sun, so you also have the deep shadow of the truck itself. The contrast between the two lighting conditions loses almost all detail in the shadows while almost blowing out the highlights on the cab roof (for example). Also, your shot looks like it has an overall pink cast to it (even though blue sky can be seen through the trees). If this is a morning or evening shot, I suggest going back at the opposite time of day and reshoot (presuming the lighting would be behind you). If not, you might try focusing and getting your readings from the rear mudflap. This will bring out more detail in the shadow, but worsen your highlights in the front. You might also try shooting from off the right front fender, again getting your settings from the shadowed part of the bed.

Good action shot of Greg Murphy, No 51. He was one of my favourite drivers. I never tire of looking at V8 shots, keep them rolling in :))

This is a MUCH better perspective! It is so much more powerful and evocative of inertia and action.

I prefer this to the other one as it shows the cars environment. Very cool shot!
