Look at this shot and compare it with your race car shots - you can clearly see the difference in quality. First, this is a tough shooting condition - bright light on the front / right side, deep shade from the trees, shooting into the sun, so you also have the deep shadow of the truck itself. The contrast between the two lighting conditions loses almost all detail in the shadows while almost blowing out the highlights on the cab roof (for example). Also, your shot looks like it has an overall pink cast to it (even though blue sky can be seen through the trees). If this is a morning or evening shot, I suggest going back at the opposite time of day and reshoot (presuming the lighting would be behind you). If not, you might try focusing and getting your readings from the rear mudflap. This will bring out more detail in the shadow, but worsen your highlights in the front. You might also try shooting from off the right front fender, again getting your settings from the shadowed part of the bed.

I'd have liked to see more of either end, from a little more straight-on angle. I can't tell you how often it seems that we have to pick the better end with abandoned vehicle shots! LOL!!!
Perhaps a little more shadows??? Some more saturation??? GREAT find! This's a great find....go back!!! |

Promising shot, maybe play around with post processing filters to give it some more lift. You can probably save in higher resolution to reduce the pixelation too. |

Seems like it has been there for a while with all of the bushes starting to grow around it. |
