The Magic Forestby kiwinickComment by taterbug: Wowsers, I'm glad to happen across this lovely image! Immediately drawn in by the rich inviting green tones. Then you see just enough detail, as if behind a shear veil, that the context is totally there, and the viewer feels rewarded for his pause to study the photo. Great tilted lines that seem to flow, again, as if a shear curtain fluttering in a soft summer breeze. This just takes my eye, and pleasantly allows me to sway back and forth across the image, taking it all in lazily. What a great feeling it gives me, like lying back in a hammock, in a secluded forest, drifting slowly into dreamland on an early summers eve.
...oh, by the way, I like this shot ;-) going into favs! |

The Magic Forestby kiwinickComment by kandykarml: I'm still stunned when I look at this. What's even more stunning is some of the comments from people who didn't see it's beauty.. Certainly a favorite for me and I love to come back & visit it again & again. |

My new Dolly. [contre joure and fill flash]by kiwinickComment by Grandad: I find the strong light on the back of the bench, and the top of the dolls head, are distracting, also the reflections in the dolls face, from the flash, I do like the shot otherwise, maybe a step to your left would take the back of the bench out of shot, and a reflector, instead of a flash, would reduce the reflection in the dolls face, a polerising filter may help with the reflections as well. good luck, I hope you find this helpfull.6 |

The Bites as good as the Bark !!!by kiwinickComment by Haakon: Of all the animal portraits in this contest, I think I like this one the best. The focus falloff is great, and tack sharp in the right place. The background is also both appropriate and interesting, and the angle adds some nice depth to the shot. It does appear to be just slightly off-balanced to me, but a simple crop could fix that. Overall, the contrast and tonality here is very nice and I enjoyed this shot a lot. Good job. |
