Advancing stormby nico_blueComment by sprite777: Originally posted by srbrubaker: When does it cross from being a photo to being a photo-derived work of art? It's a subjective question but I think this one has crossed the line. At first glance the colors are interesting, drammatic, striking. But seconds later we stop thinking about the picture and start thinking about the steps taken to make it. Then we start wondering whether the sky really would have been better without that great blob of red. Or with less of that inky blue. And then, finally, the chartreuse of the grass begins to grate. And we begin to wonder what it was we saw in the photo in that first second. That was my experience, anyway. For the first second or so, it was a real kick. |
I agree completely. It goes from amazing to a sort of over saturated water color painting where color has no purpose.
But it's still a great picture, I just was shocked that this person described my feelings so perfectly. |

Briannaby nico_blueComment by LindaLee: Beautiful model, good concept, but for me, the bright red "industrial looking" chair clashes with the casually soft sensuallity of the model. I would love to have seen her draped over chair that was a bit "classier". That being said, I must take into account the possiblity that this more industrial look was actually what you were going for, and if that is the case, then it is pretty well done. The lighting is a bit bright for my taste in this instance, but the composition feels right, the model seems at ease, and the shot looks like a contemporary ad. This might be a good stock shot. |

Briannaby nico_blueComment by RKT: Wonderful...this is an actual stand out thus far...VERY well done.
Part two...still one of very favorites in the entire group, I do love the "relaxed" yet refined attitude of this image...this is just beautiful. |

Briannaby nico_blueComment by Tammer: I like the bright red chair for contrast against the faded jeans and gray background. Unfortuantely, my eyes are drawn to the very large earrings which I find kind of distracting, but overall I think you did well. Good luck in the challenege. |

Briannaby nico_blueComment by elee3009: Like how the red lipstick matches with the chair to add dramatic interest to an overall well-made shot. The plastic handle of the chair spoils the elegance of the shot a little but maybe it was the only thing available. |

Briannaby nico_blueComment by tmorninglory96: a very classic looking picture just I feel that you cropped too close on the bottom. I think seeing her feet would have been nice. Kinda of compleated the picture. |
