One would say that the player looks at another thing which the balloon, it east can be because of the prospect. There is not much emotion on the face of the subject, one would think that for him it is an obligation to pose. Thus lack of life.

great idea. It would be cool if it looked like the person was in mid-jump. Kinda' looks like a guy just standing there as a ball is thrown over his head. But I love the idea.

Technical : Nice DoF, good focus, good composition and exposure. Nothing you can improve here.

Artistic : The biggest thing that comes to mind is the bold red background. It's a little harsh on the eyes. The apple also disappears doesn't stand out at all with the red. If you meant to use red to signify something, it was lost on me. Besides the background, the photo just isn't that compelling. There's nothing to draw me in and keep my attention.

Challenge met : Meets the challenge just fine.

Conclusion : Just short of the top 20 is good, (maybe not for you ;), but for the rest of us it is. To place higher, I recommend a different background color and more importantly a more interesting subject.

Excellent take on the challenge theme. The player seems a bit too static, I wish there was a little more energy in this shot. Overall though, very well done.
