From the Caveby owenComment by Mick: ladymonarda is right--the flare is distracting. That sand and the shadows are great though. This would be a good time to use a digital blending technique. One exposure for the sky, and a second for the cave.
BTW, this would be a great subject for the Framing II challenge. :D |

Seagull Sunsetby owenComment by Mick: This is nice! Love the warm colors, and the light rays coming through the clouds are awesome. The silhouetted bird is very nice too, but parts of the wings are lost in the clouds. Some fill flash might have helped that, if the bird was close enough.
Good one Owen!

Jettyby owenComment by Mick: This is a nice, peaceful scene. The composition is good, but would have been better if the sailboat were to the left I think. A GND filter would have helped with the sky and glare on the water. |

Jettyby owenComment by Jutilda: Despite the harsh lighting, I like this. Nice how the three boats are perfectly balanced in the shot. I love jetties and piers. Serene shot. |

And when I awoke, I was alone, this bird had flownby owenComment by L1: Greetings from the Critique Club! :)
I didn't vote in the Beatles challenge, but I did browse through the thumbnais just to peek...and this is one of the few images I opened up to appreciate in full size. I LOVE it. The DOF you've chosen to use is perfect, and the focus on the bird is spot on. I love the blends of colors, the mood, and the overall feel of this shot. As far as the challenge goes, you couldn't get much better than this for an entry. My hat is off to you!! :)
Keep shooting, and let me know if you have any questions.
Take care,
Laurie |
