Takin' it Easyby rll07Comment by joanns: Beauful horse. I like the soft focus in this photo, it looks like the horse is day dreaming. Great choice of b & w too. |

Dixie in Decemberby rll07Comment by justine: Critique Club #15
Composition: This is a fine shot of a great looking dog. Hard not to like him. The dog is centered and 'in your face'. In this case I think it works very well. Usually the lone subject centered is not as appealing. The expression, eyes ...=LOVE. I think the top could of been cropped just a bit, too much dead space.
Background: White. I think it works very well here. The frame matches the collar and draws the eye to the dogs neck.
Camera Work/Technical:Very nice. I would only suggest that the cameara been a bit lower-maybe eye level. The shot is sharp, crisp, in focus and has good lighting.
My Opinion: A very good shot. It's a perfect animal, showing love. |

Psssst....wanna buy a computer?by rll07Comment by irae: Put a touchpad on that thing, and we can talk. Subect is nicely lit and posed (great expression), but I'd prefer the background a bit farther away and better control of the shadows there. The sweater over the LCD is a bit of a bummer, too. Not to be too critical - it's technically much better work than most of what one usuallly sees here. |

Takin' it Easyby rll07Comment by RiderGal: This is a very pretty horse, also a nice capture of it. Technically this is a great photo except for the line coming out of the top left of the head. I also think the picture is maybe a tad light, but thats tough because it's a white horse with black on it. The left side of the body looks a little burnt out, maybe a tad bit too much light there. Now in terms of the challenge, I personally see what you were going for, but I don't think it worked. This is obviously a domestic animal that has been well cared for. It doesn't have any visible whiskers which means it was shaved, and the mane and forelock are shorn pretty short, and the ears are well trimmed. This had to have been done by the hand of man (or woman) and so it does not fit the challenge. I'm giving you a 5 for a beautiful picture, but one that does not seem to fit the challenge. |
