This image is fairly difficult to interpret as texture... i can see the uneven texture of the surface, but I think that if the immediate foreground was in the focal plane, the image would have more impact. = 4 - jmsetzler

Agreeing with Karmat, I don't know how many people know what I meant by the Urban Chemist, but in short, it's a drug dealer. And in the village surrounding Washington Square Park, it's nothing short of a Chemist Shop.

First, I don't really understand the title -- part of me wonders if this is where a bomb has gone off. If so, this picture may means something to the people in the area but it doesn't seem like there's anything in the shot to identify it to outsiders. I'd like to see something play a more dominant role in the photogrpah regardless. The lamps are cool -- and I think you might be able to do something cool with the trashcan.

this is a very well done, crisp night shot. I think, though, I would have tried to frame it a little differently in relation to the street lamp. It seems to be leaning a little to the right to me, and having part of a light cropped out makes it look like an accident. Excellent commentary. Hope others know what a street chemist is. :-)
