Vastnessby KylieComment by Ecce_Signum: This is a great photo for my dark monitor :) I've just found out about high key images and think this is a great example and the title lends itself to the distant birds. If the person was on the left I'd have suggested doing a crop to make the image much slimmer (maybe 3:1) |

Retreatby KylieComment by Ecce_Signum: I really like this shot Kylie, fairy tale qualities (hint). I see what Arielle means but I like it 'as is' You can alsmost feel the tree has magical qualities and most probably has elves and the like living in there. |

Bell Curveby KylieComment by dustin03: Striking...I love this shot and photo with the use of negitive spaces...Hmmm, I so happen to have shot a similar image myself about 2 weeks ago...with some birds flying over some trees....converted to b/q and uped the levels a tad to create the sky to wash out....However, it's in a heavy editing mode...Shot it as a snap shot, however, I wished I had gotten a better image...but strikeing and yet just simple...Simple shot seems to go futher than some photo that is to busy..it just depends... |

Light at the End of . . .by KylieComment by strangeghost: Quite apart from the requirements of the challenge, this is a wonderful photograph, one that I wish I had the imagination and the opportunity to capture. The golden light, the tones of the sky and the ground, the lights in the distance. Amazing work. Now, how does it meet the challenge? I'm frankly not sure I see your point in the title. The lone person walking in the distance adds an element of loneliness to the picture, but I just don't see where the hope theme comes in. In another challenge (patterns, vanishing point(!)), this photo would probably get an 8 or 9 from me, but because the challenge is hope, I have to ratchet it down a few notches. |
