Risingby bongoComment by L1: Believe me when I say this, as I have the UTMOST respect for kiwiness and his photography, but I am really shocked this did not get the blue instead... the shape, form, and depth of this one is just astounding. What a crime that you didn't get your 2nd ribbon... but that's just me bellyaching about it. It's a beautiful image! :o) |

Risingby bongoComment by kiwiness: It a lot of fun to do isn't it :) I was wondering if anyone else would be doing the same kind of shot, actually I was surprised there was only one other person... Congrats on the greeny :) |

Risingby bongoComment by bongo: Who had the audacity to copy Kiwinesses idea?
I did.
This is a tribute shot to an excellent photographer whom I admire and aspire to achieve his level of expertise.
I loved "Fingering Ghost" and had always wanted to try a similar shot. Along came the Smoke Challenge which proved to be an excellent opportunity. Tried different things...lighting etc...and loved this one.
What a wonderful learning experience and I am so pleased with the result.
Thank you Gary, (Kiwiness) you should take pride in knowing you inspire others. Your inspiration took me to a new level....I broke the 7.00 score barrier! |

Risingby bongoComment by Cafe O Penguins: Wow this alsmost looks like glass, wish I could see the source though. Possily cropping it a bit closer to make the plume more dramatic. |

Bird Watcherby bongoComment by t_korecki: Interesting photo! i love the patterns of the fence in the reflection and the colour as well.... you may want to look at removing the rather light spots on the rim of it as they are rather bright and draw attention away but thats more of a person view
gr8 work overall though |
