Romulan Aleby stupidcatComment by Jutilda: I know that square crops are not always to people's liking, but it might work here, eliminating part of her arm and shoulder. I love the use of negative space in a portrait. Nice going. |

Kojak's Lollipopby stupidcatComment by Jutilda: I actually like that crop. gsal does some really weird crops and I always love them. You could have actually cropped off more of the top and it still would have worked for me. Now it makes me want a Tootsie Pop. LOL She has killer eyes. |

Arielby stupidcatComment by Paul: This is a great improvement technically - the eyes are a little soft still but that is just a matter of taste (looking at what is completely crisp, the focus here is slightly behind the left eye - the right is bang on. Erik is right though - a quick selective sharpen of the left eye would sort it perfectly. |

Arielby stupidcatComment by Jutilda: Great light and not overdone. I often times find fill flashes and soft boxes blanch out too much of the person's face, leaving them with not a shadow or human like quality. This is not the case here. The focus is spot on. I like her mischievous expression. Great eyes. Very cute. |

Arielby stupidcatComment by ErikV: Excellent work here -- excellent lighting, great details and skin tones, wonderful match between the background and hair -- sorry to sound like I am just repeating what SandyP had to say, but it is all true. My only suggestion would be to do a bit of focal sharpening on the eyes -- they are great as it but the extra sharpening will really make them sparkle. |

Arielby stupidcatComment by SandyP: Oh, very nice! I really like your use of that background that matches her hair. It shows the separation and detail you achieved with your excellent lighting. No shadows. Beautiful skin tones and eyes. 10! |

I Love NYby stupidcatComment by Nusbaum: Nice shot. If I was going to be picky, I would say that the brightness of her right forearm draws some attention away from her face. Her arm was probably closer to your main light, which can be a challenge any time a subject lifts a hand or arm to face level. |
