A weary manby markwileyComment by Yo_Spiff: I suspect you might get some critique about the focus being slightly off from his nose and eyes. I find that slight imperfection gives this the look of something that was taken decades ago and shows me a slice of this man's life at that time. A well done street portrait. |

A weary manby markwileyComment by Paul: This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)
Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.
This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. The movement blur of the background through the window.
2. The profound connection with your subject.
3. The tight crop.
4. The slight front focus.
5. The lovely tones.
6. The heavy mood.
Great stuff. |

A weary manby markwileyComment by mariuca: He looked straight to you but somehow through you in a way that makes one sorry to push the button.
(the title can be less literal)

Jack and Jillby markwileyComment by MadMan2k: The expression on his face is pretty funny, and the other guy just looks like he's in his own world staring off into space. |

We all need an escape routeby markwileyComment by MadMan2k: Excellent light and exposure, great composition and processing - all in all very well done, one of my favorites of the challenge so far.
This is a great example of when a photo can be more than the sum of its parts, and bring them all together to create art.
I would definitely print and frame this if I were you. |
