Hmm... nice idea, nice contrasting background but something isn't quite right for me. Maybe it's the brown on the apple. I think I'd like the apples to look a little more pristine and perfect in a shot like this. I see you titled it bruised but that seems like it might have been an afterthought. Sorry if I missed the point.

Thanks for all the comments. Yes, I agree, I should have cropped it differently, so that the light band wasn't showing, and somehow different with the ear. The morning sun was shining through the kitchen blinds, and other shots made that more obvious. When I submitted this, I forgot it looked odd to viewers who didn't have that context...or it just looks odd, anyway...

I don't like the band of light on your forehead but the rest of the pic is nice. I like the clarity on the face and the pose makes this a warm and engaging photo.
