One Blue Window and an Airplaneby bobdaveantComment by Rikki: There are actually two blue windows :) Too much building and not enough sky Bob. If the airplane was part of the composition then I would have probably given it a little more breathing room. Great DOF!
Edit: I do like the symmetry of the image. it's a dull building. Ho-hum in my books but the vanishing points and leading lines towards the plane is great. Message edited by author 2005-07-23 23:36:29. |

City Lightsby bobdaveantComment by Rikki: The sky looks ominous and it's great. The DOF is good for this image as it captures the buildings in the foreground and the background. I always like taking photos when the roads are wet because it adds further detail that will otherwise be washed out on dry pavement. Again, the bothersome "tilting building" effect. The halos around the street lights are a bit distracting but somehow still complements the overall composition. |

fog on bridgeby bobdaveantComment by Rikki: This one is highly effective. The fact that the street lamp is in shadow and deep focus and the fog against the background. Well done. |

The house that Rock builtby bobdaveantComment by bobdaveant: Originally posted by rikki11: This is a much improved shot over the previous image. The water is a little too overwhelming and I wished there was more blue sky than there is dark green water. This would be a great building to capture at night. Ever thought of that? |
I would love to capture this at night but have not had the opportunity, I work near this building and often walk here during my lunch hour. Thank you so much for all your comments. |

New county courthouse graces Cleveland skyline.by bobdaveantComment by Rikki: Great lines against the old building in the background. Again this is where a bit of PS magic can help against parallax. The building almost seems to tip over. A circular polarizer would have been great for this image as well. It brings out the drama of a blue sky. |

"April" Rock and Roll Hall of Fameby bobdaveantComment by Rikki: I agree that this phot has a very "snapshot" feel. The reason is due to the way the image was cropped. One thing that bothers me though is the way the apex of the pyramid lines up with the tower in the rear. the power of the triangle is somewhat lost when this happens. DOF is good. Lastly, that railing towards the bottom of the image is quite distracting as well. Other than that, it's a great capture of one of I.M. Pei's iconic buildings. |
