Yes, it's oversharpened. Yes, the stuff on the ground still has some color to it. But absolutely YES, it's 100% legal. I desaturated all the colors except yellow. If it were a member's challenge, I would have selected the umbrella and done a lot more touch-up work, but as it stands, I am really pleased that it did as well as it did. 39th place out of 395 entries still leaves me in the top 10% and that rocks! great image! desat really pops. i'm not sure how you went about this, but there may be a way to do this under basic editing that will desat all but the umbrella, leaving the crud on the ground bw. all the same, i like this image! good luck!
