Nice composition. I nearly entered a similar shot in this challenge, a bit less thight (can be seen in my portfolio if you care). Good lighting with shadows and highlight details. However, I would venture a guess that it is a bit over sharpened.

b&w and composition work well for this. the focus is a little shallower than i would have chosen, but not off-putting. the out-of-focus ring is a little distracting though, where it sticks up so much, and is in the foreground but still out of focus.

Wow. You won't get any complaints that this doesn't meet the challenge! I love the shot, and the composition is good. I do feel that compared to the rough, gritty look of the right side of the photo, the left side seems much smoother and makes the photo look a little unbalanced. But that's probably just me being too picky, so don't worry about losing points over that. ;o) Great shot!
