Pay in Advanceby L1Comment by Jutilda: Cool use of single sat yellow! I love shots like this - the architecture and the ordinary sense of it has a comforting sense to it. The guy on the right helps to ground the shot. I wish the car roofs weren't there, but again, in a setting like this, you can hardly set it up. Good composition! |

Concentrationby L1Comment by orussell: Well composed. Great expressions on both kids faces. Also the motion blur adds a bonus point of interest in the shot. |

Watching the World Go Byby L1Comment by alfresco: I like this photo. Excellent focus and perfect dof. The crop, with the man on the left sweet spot, is perfect. And you've presented us with excellent tonal range. I like the man way the man is sitting, and how he's holding himself. Very nice shot Laurie. |

The Face of Mental Illnessby L1Comment by Tammer: For me, this photo and title touched a nerve as I have friends who have suffered through mental illness. I don't see it as a conspiracy, but I do like the mask. It's an emotive photo. |

The Face of Mental Illnessby L1Comment by bfox2: I think subtler lighting would help this shot out, making it a little bit darker overall and not as straight on the face. The shadow of the head behind it is also a little weird and you might think about the color of the shirt and the background. The little patch of green and the patch of color on the bottom and top right are a bit destracting from the emphasis of the face. Sorry if this seems a bit harsh, this is just my oppinion on what might give the shot more impact on the viewer! Let me know if you've got any questions :) |

The Face of Mental Illnessby L1Comment by LalliSig: Sorry but I don´t see how this is fits with the challenge theme at all. However, I like this shot, very nicely lit and totally disturbing, it has got a high visual impact so even though I personally think you are on a gray area regarding fitting to the challenge I still gave it a 7. |

The Face of Mental Illnessby L1Comment by BeeGee: Huh?
I don't really see (or get) what you're going at. The face-like structure (is it metal or a very plastered and post processed human face?) doesn't say conspiracy to me and I wonder what it's got to do with mental illness. Is this an attempt of yours to deal with something that happened to you or someone close to you?
I was clinically depressed this summer and spent 10 weeks, drugged and suicidal, in a mental institution. So, if you were "kidding" or just plain playing around (with words), please don't, because you'd obviously not know what you're talking about if you haven't been there yourself.
If you have been there, all the best to you! |
