Comment by SJCarter:
The heavy color sat works well here - great focus/DOF. Love the detail in her eyes. (My only nit is that there seems to be a leftover artifact of some kind in the upper left corner - piddly complaint though, I only noticed it on my 3rd look.) :-)

This is spectacular. The expression, the sparkle in your eyes, the tilt of your head, the POV, everything works together very well here. Great job.

Since you asked... ;-)
I'm certainly no expert on anything - especially lighting - but it looks to me like the fact that it's direct light hurts this image. The fact that it's slightly oof doesn't help either, but the glare from the light is most distracting IMHO. It is bouncing off the scissors in a number of places and the floor. I would suggest a much softer direct light source and perhaps an indirect one (perhaps bounced off the ceiling with a white board). Again, I'm REALLY not very experienced with studio lighting, but that's where I would start. It's a cool concept and I like the composition. I like where you were going with the image.

Nice job framing your face with your hair as you did. In this case, I like the slightly soft feel to the focus.
