greenby kevrobertsonComment by UNTITLED: Cool photo! I like the contrast of the green lighting in the passageway with the orange lighting of the building in the background. Keep up the good work! |

Night Time Armadilloby kevrobertsonComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
Very interesting idea. I like the perspective and coloring. This was defiantly a hard category, which I think you faired well in. I personally might have played with positioning a little more. Like possibly making the center piece a little more centered from the front the building giving the pieces a central focus. Also maybe making the left side smaller, it almost seems like a larger building in comparison. I would also be curious to try different colors on the borders, possibly a neutral black or white. It is very interesting how brown the sky looks compared to the blue lights from the building. The shots themselves are very clean and they defiantly fill the frames. Good work! |

swan3.jpgby kevrobertsonComment by tpoc: like the curve of the neck and composition for this photo. the bill in the water adds some visual interest for me, something i don't usually get to see in swan photos. love the strong colors. |

Swanby kevrobertsonComment by tpoc: Lovely detail in the bill of the swan. Wish the image would have contained the rest of the beak just for visual continuity. Then, the bill could really claim the spotlight. Right now, it seems that the space behind the swan is the focus because it is framed by parts of swan, instead of whole sections of swan.
Looks like it was a great day go to out shooting some pictures! You've got some great light to work with here! |

Frozen Lakeby kevrobertsonComment by tpoc: Dark but lovely. The swan's reflection is nice, the dark water and landscape are nice. Nice light reflection on the water as well. I'd like to see the entire image be just a bit brighter so that more details stand out. Or, if it stays dark, I'd clone out the people on the other shore because they are too small and dark to really see, IMO. Lovely composition. Winter's here, and this picture really says it. |

Swan-2.jpgby kevrobertsonComment by tpoc: The first thing I noticed was that the tail's a bit cut off, but then I keep looking and see the reflection in the dark water and notice the detail. I like this shot a lot. Nicely composed, nicely shot. |

swan5.jpgby kevrobertsonComment by SJCarter: Personally, I'm not crazy about seeing the beautiful creature against such a stark "man-made" pavement background, but that point aside, I think the offset composition works pretty well. I grew up around all kinds of swans, including Polish Mutes (like the one shown). They are powerful beasts both in and out of water - despite their somewhat clumsy appearance. I like the kinda drab color tones & processing you've applied here - it matches her surroundings. You lose some detail in the highlights, but I think it kinda goes with the processing choices. Nice capture. |
