Yup, it's rust. The texture is interesting, and I think that the cracks in the thing are neat. The color stands out nicely. DOF is good for this shot, and your focus on the subject really helps to bring out detail and texture. Lighting looks to have been on your side this day. Maybe it's just this whole 'rust' topic, but it does lack excitement. Still technically well done though. ~Heather~

A little bit less contrast between the sky and the foreground would have been more appropriate here.

The crackling paint revealing the rust is an interesting subject. The dramatic/abstract quality might be stronger with a closer crop. Weakened colors make an interesting contrast to many of the other photos in the challenge which go the opposite way.

This is, by far, one of the best shots of the challenge. The voters, as usual, tend toward stuff that would be better suited to a 70s album cover. Great shot nonetheless!

Well, it meets the challenge! On my monitor, there is red showing up in the white space above the red triangle, which is distracting.
