Rising Watersby KathycComment by JEM: Good shot. When I was a child we would get floods on the North Canadian river in Oklahoma. 6 JEM |

Rising Watersby KathycComment by muckpond: Good shot with great depth of field (I'm a DOF fan, but don't know how well it works in this challenge). This is a little close to give the viewer the idea of a flood...for all we know it could be a boat ramp or something. Hmmm...I guess the trees are submerged. I'm wondering if there was something else that you could have put more in the foreground that would give it more of a flood impact. Still, overall a very nice effort. muckpond |

Rising Watersby KathycComment by myqyl: It might be an illussion, but the horizon seems a tad tilted to the right... The violence of the water is expressed well... Nice capture! ~ MyQyl ~ |

Rising Watersby KathycComment by PTLParsons: Very interesting shot. The stuff hanging on the tree limb sticking out over the creek makes it look as if the water has been higher and is receding. The creek above the tree in the water looks as if a dam has broken and a rush of water is coming. The edy between the tree and the rock in the bottom corner, along with the white caps just in front make it appear that you are in a great curve just before you break into the calm of the river. I would have cropped off at the rock and enlarged it I had to for minimum size. This photo says a lot to a persons who's been in a flood or river rafting. A photo that talks is a great photo. Good clear photo all the way. I like the little bit of darkness to the shot - it adds to the emotion. Great idea. Great composition with execellent execution. PTL9 |

Rising Watersby KathycComment by CreativeDotCom: Nice photo, although I believe that it would have been more effective if you would have taken the photo in a more horizontal fashion, capturing not only the rising water, but more of the trees.....Just a thought :O) |
