First impression: The red is fuzzy. Nice tension of between the position of the pearl and the wave of red. The colors are more exciting than calm.
Even though the subject(pearl) is in focus, the lack of focus on the long line between the red and blue will cause a lot of people to say this isn't in focus and score accordingly.

Love the 'emotion' in this shot and on my screen the Sax definitely looks Gold (calibration needed me thinks!). I felt this image was nicely composed with good detail in the Sax and the persons face and arms :o)

I like the selective desaturation but I think the black and white part is too contrasty, would have worked better with less contrast IMO.
