The Katana's War Paintby brett2004Comment by Koriyama: Nice use of white balance to allow the filtered colour to come through. I'm not sure about the application, though. The blue works very well - cold and threatening (a star filter would have made the hotspot sparkle). The red, though, is less menacing than simply warm. The other way around might have worked better for me. 6 |

The Tenacious Dragonby brett2004Comment by Koriyama: Lovely idea and a very effective composition. 2 negative points - the blowout on the bottom right and the head is underexposed. Also, the shadow would have been more effective if it had been darker. 6 |

The Tenacious Dragonby brett2004Comment by adine: Hmm. This looks familiar. Isn;t this the picture that started it all? Nice dragon, nice shadow. Wish the light on the botttom right weren't so bright - the detail is a bit blown out. The contrast and detail in the dragon is good, wish the shadow were a bit darker. You could create more impact with some selective adjustments. And thanks for getting the chionese zodiac idea started, this is fun!

The Tenacious Dragonby brett2004Comment by KarenB: I love the shadow on this... and wonder how it would look cropped to exclude most of the actual figurine... or with a dof to focus more on the shadow than on the figurine. great tones, a bit too bright on the lower right. otherwise a nice image. |
