Donner Summitby Jackson_HComment by Neat: YIKES!!!!!!!!!!
WHY the big ugly black frame???
I really love the POV, and the mountains in the foreground, and the funky sky, but that frame, oh yeah I already mentioned it, sorry kind of distracting, 7 but could of been more if you, yeah you already know ;---) |

Bridal Veil Fallsby Jackson_HComment by VBW: I'm not a fan of selective desat, but putting that aside while grading today. Instead, I'm grading overall composition and whether i feel like the item that is colored draws my interest or if i feel like it pulls my interest away from something else that i find more personally meaningful in the picture.
For this picture, the green moss looks a bit alien against the grey of the rocks. It doesn't seem as alive as green things usually look. So loss of some points there from me.
Overall composition of the shot is okay, the water is coming into the frame in a location that feels a bit jarring, perhaps due to not seeing the top of the fall in frame. |

A Place to Prayby Jackson_HComment by Lydia: Not enough contrast, in my opinion, for any challenge. But... for THIS challenge, you could have upped the contrast to the extreme.
Lovely composition. |

Winter Visitorby Jackson_HComment by JakeKurdsjuk: Lovely capture, but he's lost a little too much into the background. Some selective darkening and/or blurring here would really bring him out. |

Strike a Poseby Jackson_HComment by aliqui: This is an excellent photo. I really appreciate the subtlety of the colors and lighting.
I'm surprised to see it finish so low, but I can only assume people aren't enamored with birdy eyes like they are mammal eyes. It's also quite difficult to tell the age. These little guys look like they're about ready to leave the nest, and don't really have the characteristics one would expect from a "baby" bird. I trust ya though! |

Strike a Poseby Jackson_HComment by SandyP: This is so amazing! I love hummingbirds so much. What a treat to get to photograph them in the nest like this!
