Oh my gosh, that is just too good. I noticed the same thing about some of the old castles in Europe... ancient building with a satellite dish on top.

This reminds me of a Japanese print, but in gentle shades of gray. I especially like the wee bits of vegetation along the second to last ridge.

The architectural details take me back to a more romantic time when time moved slow and the everyday things meant something. The alignment of windows in the turret section is something that is not seen these days and the slightly open curtain adds a bit of mystery for me.

sfalice as I have said in the past, you sure know your city - you show us beautiful buildings with such character. As ursula commented, the slightly pulled back curtains add to the interest overall as I wonder if it's opened just to add a tad of light, or to just peek out to see the day.
With your wonderful street-light series from last year and now this theme, I too think you should have a place to show your shots and include the history - there is a Patch for SF and I know they would love to publish a weekly blog with these photos and history. Just a thought.

Oh to be the little girl hiding below the window sill in the tower. Ducking just in time to avoid being seen. Tea parties, soires and so much more. The story the house could tell. Gorgeous colors and beautiful details. I love how the window boxes stack to show depth.

Such a fancy place! I like how the yellow frames it at the bottom. The yellow is also reflected a bit at the top, and that, to me, brings it all together.

Nice...we have a house like that near Washington Park in Albany which I always wanted to live in (it's apartments I think...I want the one with the windows at the top!)
