Love the pose, the expresions, composition, says scent nicely. This comes over as a very sensual phoyo indeed. A little less "soft" might have helped as it looks a little foggy, but overall I love this.

Excellent idea and probably fun to do. It's so hard shooting light and ot getting glares where the flame is, I"m still working on that. The grain detracts from this shot for me, a bit more smooth and a bit more focus, clarity would really make this shot pop. Also if you could somehow have the candle suspended instead of laying down, perhaps have a nail through the middle in the back so it's away from the table, have the wax dripping down instead of pooling. A 5

This image actually has a real cool retro feel to it. Reminds me of b/w photography my father use to do. My biggest suggestion would be to lessen the negative space at the top and do this image in portrait orientation. 7 -danny

probably would have been better if you could actually have seen the flame..i.e., from the side.

Yes a powerful, beautiful individual. The cigarette however draws all the attention in the composition. Is that what you're trying to say all that a woman is or could be lost to a nasty habit?

Greetings from the Critique Club!

This is a difficult shot to critique, because I can't quite tell what you were going for here. Your plane of focus seems to be very thin, and it looks like it hits the cup about half way down, causing everything to look out of focus. The colors are all very drab (perhaps black and white would have been better) and the lighting is not spectacular. The dirty cup does nothing but distract me from viewing the shot as a whole.

In short, the idea is good, but the execution needs some help.

I like the idea. I think it would have been better if you had used a lower point of view so the wicks and flames were more obvious.
