Nice use of closeup and low contrast to make a point.

no doubt U gotten the title/theme of the challenge, however in my opinion, its too FLAT and washed out (and small as well).

A very strong image! Like a painting! The eyes and half-opened mouth of the women as-well-as the man's absent expression are simply great. Also the cropping is very well done. However, somehow something is missing technically to make this picture a winner image IMO. But I have to admitt that I don\'t know what. Maybe it\'s just a frame so the image does not get lost on the browser page.

why all the haze? I think it really takes away from the emotion of your shot. Did you also try this in bw? Might really have added to the feel (and scent) of it.

Too soft and noisy for me. Sorry. 2

Is this misty intentionally? Great concept, but I'm unsure about the execution...

I like how you cropped out his eyes and I like the angle of her head. The look on her face (half closed eyes, partly opened mouth) gives this a very sensual feel. I know the blur was intentional to give this a soft, sexy feeling but I think it's over-blurred, imo. Unless of course you're going for that steamed up shower door look! ;-) Really though, it's a good shot. I gave this an 8.

ah! A little overly soft focused and grained and fuzzy. I think in focus and Black and white would have been better.

Wow, good photo of emotional links to scent.
The soft focus works great to create the right mood for the viewer, it makes the scene steamy ~hot~sexy.
I am not sure about the noise, I think it would be to 'sharp' without it, destroying the mood. Good as it is.

Nice shot. A little too soft IMO.

Captures the intimacy really well

Great picture! I would have used a little more contrast but the concept and composition is very good.

good idea, but lacks clarity.

I like the soft focus very much. But I wonder what chance it will have against the sharp and clear shots. It seems those are favored. Good luck.

Oh, yeah.

You could use this for the soft focus challenge as well. Very good idea, an important smell in everyday life. I like the soft effect, keeps it a bit more distant from the actual person and emphasises more the experience/smell. Her expression is good as well, really taking in the smell.

One of my favorites from this challenge. May have been the best with just a little less softness.
11/26/2003 03:07:20 PM
Sexy shot. I like it. Like the softness also. Good luck.
11/26/2003 11:51:25 AM
Very good interpretation. The softness is nice.
11/26/2003 11:27:54 AM
A bit too hazy for my likeing, but good idea.
11/26/2003 06:09:48 AM
Tender mood. Blur and grain works fine here. Subtle tone gradation too.
Why not use the 640 pixels allowed here?
One of my favs so far.

Soft and sensuous, meets the challenge for me, but lacking in a good tonal range that would make it more visually appealing.
11/26/2003 05:06:39 AM
Great idea - you could double up for "Soft Focus"! Nice moody shot.

Love the pose, the expresions, composition, says scent nicely. This comes over as a very sensual phoyo indeed. A little less "soft" might have helped as it looks a little foggy, but overall I love this.
