Cyclistby MargaretNetComment by SaraR: I have come back to this so many times this week, and now I must decide on my vote. I find myself completely torn - I do rather like this illustration effect that you have achieved - everything about it implies and suggests a coloured sketch - and in an extended editing challenge I would probably vote highly. I must assume that all your steps are standard editing legal, but part of me feels the the image has moved so far away from photography and into the realm of digital art that it is no longer a photograph.
In this instance I am going to vote highly - I would love to be able to achieve this myself - but at the same time, I would hate it if such heavily manipulated images became the norm, crowding out more traditional takes on photography. So, a one time only vote of 8, for showing me something new that I can aspire towards in my editing, but probably not for DPC. |

Cyclistby MargaretNetComment by MaryO: I like this very much, but I wonder if the processing isn't a bit much for a regular Free Study. It's pretty far from a photograph. It would be perfect if the editing set was Expert. I still gave it a good score, just because I like it so much, but I would have scored it higher if this was an Extended Free Study. |

Old but not uselessby MargaretNetComment by TDCollins: Giving you a good score. The photo fits the challenge perfectly and I absolutely love the scene of this photo, but for me, a bit over processed in the edit. I really hope you do well. |

Old but not uselessby MargaretNetComment by roz: i absolutely love it when a photograph becomes something so much more thru editing ..
dont get me wrong photographs can be awesome too .. but its great when a photographer has a vision for a photograph and creates art ..
last night i got the dynamic auto painter software .. and have tried out a few of the presets .. this has that feeling about it .. i'd love to know how you created this piece of glorious art from what i would say was a pretty awesome photo .. :)
well seen, beautifully photographed and magic edit .. :) |

I like how you "captured" the light in this one too. Beautiful. :-)

I can see that validating entries has opened for you opportunities to post comments like this, THIS IS NOT RIGHT THING TO DO! Nobody else on SC has ever done that! |
