solitary sunsetby wkmenComment by Tranquil: Very nice shot with very good planal perspective as the mountains fade away before us. As for what you could do with it now, I would not change a thing... but have you a time machine... i would go back and make the person sit down so the silhouette of their head is visible. That would have made this an A+ shot...
Besides that... I like the pastel colors and tones gotten here. Good work. |

Undersea Montage #2.jpgby wkmenComment by suemack: Mostly love the colours on this montage. Circular composition is cool.
The colouring round the ? barracuda at middle top for me doesn't work....lavender/purplish tonings, and I wish the red fish top left had turned round! I really like how at the top L, R, and bottom R you have a focal point of fish and slightly different b/g, though the bottom right one is less obvious. Would love to see that sort of thing on all fours corners. These break up the overly circular feel, and enhance the composition (not sure I explained that well)
Great concept though, can see this on sale at one of our lfs (local fish shops) or on one of their calenders.
Edited to say..... Great fish shots!! I have tropicals so know how hard it is to get a good fish photo!

life's ebb & flowby wkmenComment by sabphoto: Your sharp focus on the background really makes the foreground a distraction otherwise this would be a great shot |

estate courtyardby wkmenComment by sabphoto: I'm not really fond of the picture as a whole but love all the different textures (the bricks, tree trunks, leaves and bushes) and shapes you have captured here, the sky could probably have been saved with a filter. |

old barn and buttercupsby wkmenComment by sabphoto: My second favorite thing to shoot, old barns...wonderful capture here, love the new flowers leading to the old barn. The tree in the foreground in the flowers appears to be wind blown and really helps show what the barn has had to endure over the years. Great capture, hope you have this printed and framed big. |

summer is doneby wkmenComment by Neil: This one has potential, with some really nice colors, but things can be improved (in order of importance):
1) The 50% vertical split composition is less impactful
2) the OOF foreground leaf is distracting
3) the flowery table cloth or cloth adds nice color, but perhaps you should exclude to emphasize the real growing things
4) the slight inclusion of an object (corn) on the left is not enough to count as part of the pic, but enough to distract.

pier at sunsetby wkmenComment by sabphoto: I am very partial to sunsets and sunrises but this doesn't really do a whole lot for me, the colors seem dull, maybe a boost in contrast or saturation would help...then again after reading resusit8u's posting I guess it could be my monitor but your other images looked much better. |

Roadside Wildflowerby wkmenComment by sabphoto: Very nice color...just realized your are using an olympus...I love my 5050 but wish I could afford the e-volt. I like your depth of field and how you did "dead center" the one flower but your other two to the right are in sharp focus so it is not distracting. My eye was drawn all around the shot. Very nice |

At the Car Showby wkmenComment by sabphoto: Great shot BUT I think the flower(?) (or whatever that red thing in the forground is) hurts your image a lot, there is also a similar blurred image on the left where the mirror should be. Your colors are great and I think your position is good but really need to lose those foreground images. |

pier at sunsetby wkmenComment by Resusit8u: This image is beautifully done. I love the siloquetting of the pier against the sunset. The colors are well saturated. The reflection of the pier on the sand is awesome. You may want to crop the distal part of the pier that is sloping downward, but that is a matter of personal choice. I really can't find anything negative to say about this picture, it was thoughtfully executed. |
