pixelated. Maybe you used a very high ISO for this? If so, try using a lower one + a longer shutter speed + a tripod. :)

On my monitor this image has a very noticeable blue cast to it. Imo, the silhouetted areas should be more black, not blue, and the sunset should be more 'warm' - meaning orange or red. I'm not sure what you use but if you have Photoshop or can figure out something similar with what you use, try this: Go to Color Balance, choose Shadows under "Tone Balance" and then move the cyan/red slider between +20 and +40. That will get rid of the blue cast and will also warm up the shot.

Roberts suggestion to try Neat Image is also a good one.

I also agree about the person's head being lost on the mountain. Both images are so dark that they blend together and become one. Perhaps if you had just moved a bit to the right the person would have a backdrop of water instead of mountain or rocks.

A very good attempt. Sunset/Sunrises can be tricky.

I like the shot but there are a few things I would like to point out.
I like the silohuette effect, but the blending of the head into the mountain side does not appeal much to me. I do like the low angle and the depth of field, but the body would be better if the head attatched was visable as well.
Regarding the noise, I am going to recommend to you a program called neat image. Its main use is to remove noise. The demo version will work well enough and does everything you'll need.Neat Image There are instructions on the website for use, but it is a pretty simple program.

I really like the scene itself, but the photograph needs a little work. See what you can do to creat a difference between the head and the background, such as adjusting tone or lighting in photo shop or whatever digital editing program you use.

My first impression of this shot is that you've lost your models head... I find this to be quite distracting in an otherwise beautiful shot. If s/he was lower (squating down or kneeling) so that they don't dissappear into the background, this would be damn near perfect

This has a wonderful mood, but I would like to see two changes here:
1) Noise reduction
2) Separation of the foreground sillouette from the background. In other words, some sort of tonal separation--otherwise, his/her head is lost in the mountains. It looks like there's a bit of light/sun halow around his/her head. That could be just the ticket, if it can be emphasized. Or the levels/exposure of the foreground and background could be done in two passes and the foreground or background lightened a bit.

This one's not to my liking. I think the dark parts should be black and not gray, or at least show some more details. The sunset is not red enough to have a strong effect. You might either try to push the saturation, or turn the whole picture b&w.
The picture is quite noisy, too. I think you could run it through NeatImage without losing too much overall quality.

very nice. i think that the slight light on the subjects head is a saving grace. it would be nice if it stuck out a bit more, but i like the composition of the shot, the colors and i think the fence adds a lot too.

Very nice shot with very good planal perspective as the mountains fade away before us. As for what you could do with it now, I would not change a thing... but have you a time machine... i would go back and make the person sit down so the silhouette of their head is visible. That would have made this an A+ shot...

Besides that... I like the pastel colors and tones gotten here. Good work.
