hello again,

sorry but i am on that hit this one hard... seemed like the shadows were out of focus. i know that shadows are never really in focus per se, but this one seemed like it was even more so than necessary.

i also thought it was a bit on the busy side and did not have any true focal point. looked like a throw in to me.

on a positive note. it at least was a shadow. lol. just messing of course you typically do well this is not your best work.

Trading Post - Well I will admit that I gave this a 3. Looking back on it now I must have been in a rare mood as it does fit the challenge in that you took a picture of a shadow. I shouldnt have been so harsh. But that being said, I just didnt find this interesting at all. THe shadows were not crisp and the lines on the canvas didnt help much. The b&w tones didnt seem to be flattering either. You can and have done better.

Heh! LOVE that expression! Definitely meets the challenge. I didn't vote in this one but would have given it a 6. What probably hurt the score (I haven't read other comments yet) is that the lighting seems rather harsh on the framing element; it's a bit overpowering, even though the subject is well-lit. Maybe a tighter crop would help, but I kinda like it the way it is as far as composition.

well framed, could use a tighter crop from the left to get the kid off center.

the lighting is really harsh, knowing it's from spotlights you could have brought a white umbrella to put beween the spotlight and the kid to soften the light.

I think it's over contrasted, with some burned out spots both in his face and the tree.

with a softer light, tighter crop and better postprocessing you could have scored 100 places higher.

nothing much to critisize, you got DQ'd so there is no score to see how you did...

but the image is overexposed, the spotlight is not helping, and that tattoo is telling me she's more than 17.

I don't think you would score much higher than a 5.2 if this hadn't been DQ'd.
