House on Haunted Hillby MinsoPhotoComment by insteps: I like the grain and feeling of this shot. I wish there were some solid black areas for negative space. Maybe a dark Vignette would achieve this. |

House on Haunted Hillby MinsoPhotoComment by Denielle: I like this image. The movement makes for a creepy feeling. When I saw this, before reading the title, I thought "Amityville Horror". I was close. Nicely done. |

Man in the Boxby MinsoPhotoComment by tnun: I noticed this in the voting, though I didn't vote at all... I still don't know what to say, except that it definitely has something. I almost defy anyone to add up all the elements. |

1by MinsoPhotoComment by ubique: Originally posted by insteps: Interesting processing that works well. Like Zigomar said your vignette is a little to obvious. Overall, very nice! |
Haha! Zig & Henry are both heroes of mine but I don't agree about the vignette. I can't agree, actually, because look at the monster vignettes I use; I put 'em on with an industrial roller! You're nearly subtle by comparison.
The weird thing I have found about vignettes is that they have to be either so light as to be almost undetectable or so heavy as to be unavoidable. Like moms smacking naughty kids (when that was acceptable at all) ... a light slap on the hand was enough to make a point, an almighty belting on the ass was just impossible to argue with, but anything in between was just an exercise in feeble self-indulgence on the part of the parent, and had no lasting effect.
