I noticed this in the voting, though I didn't vote at all... I still don't know what to say, except that it definitely has something. I almost defy anyone to add up all the elements.

I don't know why I didn't hang this in my gallery. Maybe because I suspected it was you and didn't want to encourage you to take your clothes off. It really is an astounding image, though.

Disturbing and compelling - well done :)

I like this better than the "Empty Room" version which looked like it might have been from the same shot. I'm pretty sure I've felt like this, which is definitely a sign that a picture is doing something for the viewer, when they feel something from it.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: This is the third time I've typed out a long comment (lost it twice!) - let's try again. Not that I'm particularly familiar with you from this angle, I'm pretty convinced this is a MinsoPhoto self portrait. I find the image to be bold, brave and mighty fine! I like the stark lighting and the deep shadows so provided, I like the skirting and how it shows us that corner in a way the walls do not, I like the white squiggle bottom left and the textures of the surfaces and I very much like the ceiling vent and how that tames the space. Fantastic contrast too.

Critical stuff: Nope.

Overall: Bravo. I could see this hanging in a gallery - and this coming from someone who shoots very different nudes. I've given you a 9 - in lesser challenges I may have gone higher but for this one I'm reserving my 10s for just four shots that have knocked my socks off.

A bizarre space that the shot is in but the scaling is wonderful

Interesting. The ceiling air vent is a bit distracting.

frightening image creating multiple dimensions that I fear to enter.

I'm not really sure what is supposed to be going on here. On top of that, it's just dark and noisy and holds no appeal for me.

Not your typical view. Not sure what the line markings on the floor mean. Not sure what is means by "box" - there is a black square on the floor, but the boards around the edge provide clear definition of the height of that part, and make the wall (which it looks like he's pressing against) looks like it is behind the boards bordering the floor, and there is obviously not a visible fore or side wall. It also does not appear to be a "mime 'box'".

It certainly conveys well the feeling of entrapment.

the dead center composition ruins it. just a naked guy pushing on the wall. move the camera to a different angle and tell me a story.

Actually I think this is definetly one of the better ones, provocative and daring and we are left trying to work out what emotion its giving us.

there is something strangely compelling about this shot. Is this Gerard Depardieu by any chance?

Oh MAN. This has to be one of the best images I've seen on DPC. This made me sit up straight in my chair and lean in to the computer screen, with eyes popping wide open.

GORGEOUS.

Not bad, but juding from the "attitude" the model gives off and the title, I think having him in a entirely black surrounding (but still having some texture on the floor and walls, to show he´s indeed "in the box") would have been a stronger image.
