My opinion on how you might make this photo better is having the bug the main subject rather than the bug/flower as the main subject.

So much can be read into this that it becomes a bit confusing. First, though, I love the desatted tones. And the gauze is an interesting texture for the bg. The apples clearly refer to Adam and Eve, and life, and sin, etc., and they are beautifully captured. But then the seeds...? Are those earth? Or heaven? I'm not sure having them oof works for the image, or maybe I'm just not understanding what's going on.
