Taken at Cedar Key, Florida on the Gulf. "Thomas Guest House", built in 1959, is one of the most photographed buildings of the Cedar Key. It barely stands just offshore the main Key, and is often jokingly called "The Honeymoon Cottage." It and it's boardwalk were partially destroyed by Hurricane Elena on Labor Day, 1985.

This was not a particularly good day for photographing, as the sky was flat with no clouds. We enjoy visiting for the day, eating seafood and watching the sunset.

This picture has some great potential. IMO here are a couple of things you could try to add impact. First go with a long exposure (you might need a ND filter to increase your exposure time). That would give the water a nice smooth look. Then you might try desaturating the image thus giving the water and the sky the same tones which would then pop the cottage out. Of course that is just so ideas of what I might have done if I found myself in the same place. Cheers!
