Flower macroby TammsterComment by Tammster: Originally posted by MattO: Interesting colors and lines. Seems like it could use a bit of sharpening and a bump in contrast, otherwise very nice. |
Added some contrast & sharpening per Matto's suggestion (thanks!). |

Giraffe - CLOSE upby TammsterComment by Tammster: Originally posted by aliqui: Hey, I just noticed there's actually TWO giraffes in this photo. There's a second one in the eye reflection. |
WOW! I never noticed that. I was so caught up in processing I never noticed that or the large amount of green in the eye that you brought to my attention before.
I actually think I have a more edited version of this shot where I kind of "cleaned up" some of the little light colored fur in the dark orange areas (it was bugging me). This was my outtake for the zoo challenge. Sadly I couldn't use this because I went to Lion Country Safari the day BEFORE the zoo challenge (I was quite upset).

Snowy Egretby TammsterComment by MacDonald: I like your edit both ways ... as Mary noted, it lookes like a painting ... hard getting detail in all white birds but the way you pped it, it looks like that's what you had planned. |

Snowy Egretby TammsterComment by MaryO: It's gorgeous this way; just like a watercolor painting! The light was really lovely and that's probably more evident with this processing. I can see why you like it :-) |

Giraffe - CLOSE upby TammsterComment by aliqui: My eye keeps going to the green, which is throwing off the balance. If it were me I'd probably lower the green saturation. I love how the frame is full of giraffe face.
As for it being macro or close-up, I think that's about as macro as any of us are going to get with a giraffe, so I doubt you'll hear any complaints, heh. |
