Carwash Bluesby PenelopeKComment by mariuca: It has a great feeling of happiness; all is well in a nice world.
Could be a French painting from the late 20th century.
Until I find " le mot juste", I place it with my favorites. |

Bombah Broadwater, Evening Calmby PenelopeKComment by blindjustice: At first I though- Cape Cod?- but then, the exotic nature came through. The subtle horizon is done very well; the trees in the shot create the feel the swamp, the cool air, the ultramarine bleeds into cerulean, then to cobalt in the foreground- I wonder if photogs intentionally go for the blues in the skies they shoot, whether it is a subconsciously done or not- this is great. and finally the lighting on the right side provides a warmth and gives context- I love when emphasis is derived through warmth of the color values rather than pure light and dark and foreground focus issues. |

The Supplicantby PenelopeKComment by blindjustice: I like the focus on the leaf; the detail, the contrast of weak and paper green versus the bulbous white form the left. great title as well. |

Gridironby PenelopeKComment by blindjustice: Good red-rust feel- impeccable composition-great depth- sacrificing only a bit of busyness in the center. |

Mackerel Sky, Summer's End by PenelopeKComment by blindjustice: This I feel was a bit underrated, but it was a free challenge- you've got that great sky that you do so well, reflected perfectly-but what really sells it for me is the green and gold and the curvature of the land. |

Lichen and Stoneby PenelopeKComment by blindjustice: I live in a stone house, about 100 years old; there are all manner of things etched into it- this shot sums up a lot of it for me, the patterns of nature- circular, loosely patterned- within the context of man-made square and angular rectangle shaped stone. |
