personally for me depression involves a lot of self analysis .. this captures it so well .. i'm loving the head being totally devoid of any expression like a blank canvas almost .. and altho depression involves a lot of intense emotions you can also feel blank at the same time .. how weird .. anyway .. viewing this evokes emotion .. its quite brilliant .. :)

For me, this photo is much stronger cropped just above the main branch of "gumballs". The heron has such an Audubon print quality, that the top branches are just a distraction from the main focus. Definite wall hanger!!!
