Well setup photo, especially the look on the guy's face. I do get the feeling that this photo has been over-sharpened a bit, which is hurting to overall shot.

Great idea, I can see how one would mistake head for ball :).
There is a bit of motion blur on the hands/arms though, and now that I've seen it I keep looking at it :(.

I personally would have voted this one higher than the one you submitted... but you know how I am about birds ;)

About the jagged edges though - one thing I've found with PP is to actually apply some gaussian blur prior to doing your first resize. After that, apply your USM. At least, that's what I've found working for me for this site's horrendous pixel limitations.

Really like the starkness of the guys in the boat against the background. The railing suffers a bit from the jaggies, but with digital and at these sizes, there just ain't much to be done about those.
