| 11/01/2008 09:51:32 PM | Candy Kissesby royallillyComment: Spontaneous, innocent. They kiss because they've seen their mommies and daddies do the same. They kiss because they know, somewhere deep down, that it gets a reaction they enjoy. They kiss because, on some level, they feel it's good, and right, and beautiful.
They kiss because they are learning, and growing, and finding out about themselves every day.
At the end of the kiss, she turns and smiles. He turns with a slightly embarrassed grin. They both turn back to their candy.
The first steps always start with a tiny moment, and sometimes that moment is wonderful. |
| 11/01/2008 09:05:04 PM | Sticky Situationby crabappl3Comment: He stared them down. The mob. The masses. He was different, and they didn't like that. He knew that he was in danger, but now was the time. Now was the moment.
He stood up tall as they advanced upon them. He raised is stick in defiance and pride. For a moment, as they stopped and gathered, he thought maybe he could get his voice heard. He thought maybe he could change the world for all those after him that would also be different.
He thought wrong.
His stand in that place, at that moment, however, did not go unnoticed. Decades later, when diversity was finally embraced, and peanut covered got along with caramel, and red candy married blue, and sprinkles befriended chocolate covered, his stand was remembered. His defiance was celebrated. His strength of conviction was honored, and all Candy Apples were created Equal. |
| 11/01/2008 08:49:51 PM | Egret Partyby tinky2Comment: In what turned out to be a horrific blood-bath, Ed and Henry began fighting for the attention of Matilda, a lovely lass that was the talk of the flock. The fight was brutal, violent, and resulted in the permanent disability of both the foolish lads.
Tragically, it was also all for naught, as Matilda's love was actually reserved for Patricia, and the lads' foolishness was mocked for years. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 08:34:43 PM | The Happy Tortoiseby LydiaComment: Scutter wanted to join the Tortoise Club so bad, that he resorted to taking Turtle Steroids. However, after buying a black-market bottle of what he thought was muscle growth hormone, he was horrified to find out that it was actually just a home-brewed mixture called "Mama Tortoise's Happy Time Tonic and Hair Shampoo", and that it wasn't the muscles that he had grown. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 08:28:39 PM | Imagine Peace Towerby JohannesFrankComment: It was a night like most that night. Silent, calm, peaceful. So it was with confusion and horror that the beam shot down and obliterated a fishing boat in the tiny little village of Ikartusk.
So it was with confusion and disappointment that Hr'Grr'th had to fire Trk'Thpth'Ak for being a horribly incompetent gunner, as they had been aiming at London. |
| 11/01/2008 08:26:09 PM | Bloody ilitratesby drabhiComment: Defying laws, laughing in the face of authority, causing mayhem everywhere they went. This was their duty. This was their mandate.
This was the Goose Squad. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 11/01/2008 08:20:41 PM | slipsliding awayby cutoutComment: When William finally decided that his masterpiece was going all wrong, he would have been horrified to know what devastation his furious erasing would cause the world that he had created.
The screams and deaths were only the beginning. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

And so began little McCarty's career as a famous Cartlympics gymnast. |
| 11/01/2008 08:15:48 PM | Lines and Curvesby mthometzComment: As a sudden loss of pressure caused Johnathan to look up, he watched in horror as a part of the tree before him was disintegrated silently, and four dark beams of energy traced a path through the sky. Soon after, the beams gone to whatever destination they were bound to, a sudden boom accompanied the filling in of space that had been emptied in their wake.
Johnathan fell to the ground, grabbing at his ears as his eardrums popped from the pressure and sound. He screamed into the earth in his pain, and so didn't see the following beams that obliterated him, and almost everything around.
It had begun. |
| 11/01/2008 08:09:36 PM | Window Drawingby timfythetooComment: She stood there, proudly displaying her dexterity, her tiny feet perched precariously on the ledge, her hands gripping her lifeline. Sure, to someone bigger, the drop was insignificant. Sure, to someone with more experience in life, the achievement wouldn't be worth noting.
To her, however, shining in the light of the morning, facing the shadows of the uncertainty of the future, it was a monumental moment. Climbing to that small but significant perch, showing off her growing abilities.
She stood there, proudly, and so she should. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
