I like this image for its old fashioned esthetic with low, upward pov and dramatic light almost theatrical in its effect - I expect Heathcliff to emerge crossing the bridge any moment. At first I was skeptical that the peripheral blur didn't qualify but upon reflection decided it was a valid interpretation of the challenge. Good composition and framing.

I should have guessed from the location and would have if I had had the presence of mind to comment. And I did give a 6 which should have been higher except I'm reminded of the topic and can't find any blur. Exceptional reflected discovery well framed however.

You could have called it "startled" for the effect the image conveys. The eyes say it all and the left eye dissected by the edge of the frame seems to reflect your explorations into said edginess with no pun intended.

Contrast could have been stronger but. Still, the man teetering dangerously on the edge of the frame generates such tension that I can't tear myself away.

An impressive, moody photo as close to kindred spirits as could be found in man and horse. So sorry it missed the "high contrast" aspect of the topic which might have ruined the shot; so just a 7 from me, but its a favorite for being as memorable as it is. I think it could have soared in free study voting.
