I love such spontaneously found images full of both obvious visual parallels and less accessible implications.. voted earlier

Comment:
A sensitively constructed composition respecting the flatness and dynamism of the picture plane and the four lines describing its edges. Lines spring from those edges and reframe fields of texture and mood which contrast and contend with each other. Abstract and deceptively understated, this image is an exercise in minimalism that is at the same time tense with repressed expressionism. It is one of the few that has both a good eye for the art of composition and a feeling for modernist sentiment. If I had a bling to apply, this would get one. voted earlier

Love the framing, tint and the child's joyfully spontaneous body language.

Very nice. I should have guessed, for it had the touch of a serious artist.

Patience pays. Good capture for the topic as defined. ("Minimalism" in the art world is not about small things but rather a whole esthetic of minimal input - the water is what it is all about, not the birds. ) So either way, or both, its a winner.

My top pick for the best among the rare few that know (or guess) what the badly defined topic of "Minimalism" is really about, which is not so much about the minimized elements on the street but the street pavement itself.

Scintinating bits of vibrating bird activity against a foreboding and "turbulent" background.

Very Cartier-Bresson or whoever else might have used a TLR square format. Cartier-Bresson used a 35mm.
