A really nice photograph.. but no real connection to the challenge. I realize the description mentioned "personal heroes", but *I* personally need to feel more connection to the "hero" and less to the "personal"

a 5 for humor, but I find this to be far too much of a "snapshot". You're in way too close on the subject, the reflection is a distraction, rather than a nice element (to me), and the lighting is dull.

Focus is off, although it's a nice profile portrait.

Just not a very flattering photograph. A little too much clutter, lighting is a little flat, and the composition isn't very strong. More focus on an idividual tombstone could have helped, and perhaps a little less emphasis on the rusty fencing.

Although this is a good photo (although it seems there's some artifacting in the spray), I just don't see a strong connection in the challenge. Is he "heroic" for standing there? I don't think so. Courageously stupid maybe :)

Uh.. American Flag motif Buzz? How commercially patriotic and crass..

It's an interesting perspective, but focus is a little soft, exposure is a little dark, and I just don't think the message is entirely apt.

Not sure *why* I like this shot.. it's a little over-smoothed, the soft-focus isn't entirely effective (at least to me), and the selective desat looks really out of place.. but..

I still like it. LOL.

Huh.. I thought I had a real winner here, but my camera's technical limitations are definitely showing.

Eugene - I USM'd this piece to death.. :) As for getting a better DOF, it's just not possible with my cam. Oh well, what can you do eh?

I dunno if many people actually *got* this one, or spent long enough looking at it. Some of you did though, so that's good :) More 3s on this photo than I've had in a long time.. confusing.

Oh well, I just have to keep trying. I may bitch about my scores and stuff, but as long as I keep submitting stuff *I* like, instead of stuff I think everyone *else* will like, I'll just have to eventually learn to like scores like this :)

Can I say like any more than that!?
