While I like the concept, the composition is a bit too tight in my opinion. I'd have liked a little more breathing room on the edges of the frame.

Love it, just wish you hadn't desaturated so much. 9

What purpose does the selective desaturation serve here? 6

I like this, but it does not convey heroism to me. Also, in my opinion it would have been much better in just black and white, given the fact that is properly exposed and well done techncially. Selective desat adds a cheesy and cheap kind of look to it...

Good selective desat

Not sure *why* I like this shot.. it's a little over-smoothed, the soft-focus isn't entirely effective (at least to me), and the selective desat looks really out of place.. but..

I still like it. LOL.

Life's little mysteries.

I like the way you`ve framed this and I also like the selective desat and soft focus..but I think you are very brave for using the two techniques together as they are very unpopular at the moment with some voters.
Not me though.....8

Wow. How *did* you get this pose? Love the post editing. Constrast, lighting, composition and crop - it's all perfect imo. 10. You're a true artist! Well done!

nice picture but the selective desaturation doesn't work for me, if using it to bring attention to the remaining color it shound have been the little girl's dress or the skintones, not the mommy's skirt

It may have been stronger to select a different color to leave in, like the girls hair or shift it all to B&W. 7.

The message is clear. The desat detracts however.
