| 12/10/2004 09:17:33 AM | Chameleon in Yellowby hlswilsonComment: Composition: 7, I don't really like the rectangular composition here.
Technical: 10, I can't find anything wrong with this technically.. It's sharp, clean, and wonderfully lit.
Appeal: 8, Definitely very artsy, with a nice appeal.
Challenge: 4, I had to dock you on this, as this really is more orangey-red, with the only yellow feel being highlights on the face, and slight ones at that.
Overall Calculated Average Score: 7, Were it more "Yellow", a much higher score. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 12/10/2004 09:14:30 AM | chillinby arngrimurComment: Composition: 8, A quirky composition, but it works for me.
Technical: 8, A little bit of noise in the darker areas.
Appeal: 6, It's funny, but there's not much of an appeal factor other than that, for me.
Challenge: 5, This would definitely fit a *blue* challenge better, as that color seems to be the impact. The yellow duck, for me, is just an after-thought.
Overall Calculated Average Score: 7, It's a nice photograph, but needed to be stronger on the challenge in my opinion. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 12/10/2004 09:10:27 AM | On the Beachby BudComment: Composition: 9, A pretty strong composition. The upper "horizon" line in the background would have been nice to see eliminated
Technical: 7, Slightly noisy and over-exposed in areas
Appeal: 10, This has a great appeal for me. Nostalgic, classic, and fun
Challenge: 7, It has yellow in it, but I'm not sure if it's as strong as it could be if you'd tried to keep the sand a little more colorful.
Overall Calculated Average Score: 8 | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 12/06/2004 09:15:55 AM | Give me a 10.... or the Camera gets it!by ArtysteComment: A big thank you to everyone who commented. Commenters on this image gave me an average of 7.556... non commenters a 5.155.
That's probably the largest difference in score between commenters and non-commenters I've ever had.
I don't understand why this did so poorly at all... Totally, absolutely, completely blows my mind. Yah, the figure in the background is a little motion-blurred in areas, but not where it counts. (hard to time the swinging of a camera strap when you have all of 10 seconds to get into the shot and pose it). I just don't get it.
I didn't expect 7s.. or even mid 6s.. but a 5.1?! *shakes head*
I'll never understand what makes the masses happy. I'm too deeply *me*.
This.. is why I fail. |

No accounting for the idiocy of DPC voters though. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
