2ndonleft.jpgby KoriyamaComment: Agree with the below - very funny. Mantises are unavoidably humourous anyway - if a little scary if you look into their eyes. Good definition. |

Garden of the Giantsby ArtifactsComment: A stunning example of how a photograph really can transmit a feeling of actually being there. This is impressive and humbling, and I'd dearly love to see those for real. Top shot. |

Anoleby HavokComment: He's definitely an anole! In green mode. I used to keep these as a kid and they're normally referred to as American Chameleons.
This is very tasteful and it's some great post-processing too. Love it. Message edited by author 2003-12-01 18:26:28. |

Waiting for the Elves by dsidwellComment: Very unusual looking image. Artistic in its colours and appropriately using the challenge to present a scene of beauty which is enhanced by the technique.
You may have used a coloured filter (smeared liquids, painted acetate?) to achieve this - I'll be interested to know.
Marked down only for the distracting hilights in the background. |

Pianissimo by jmsetzlerComment: A supreme image, expertly taken. Great composition, perfect use of the media and challenge brief - simply sumptuous. Your ribbon will be much deserved.
1 point off for the slightly thinner border on the left! ; ) |

Sunset at Siphon's Drawby ArtifactsComment: Very striking colours with a bizarre vibe to it. You've managed a quite surreal effect (however you did it) and it makes for an impressive scene. Good job. |

Next Stop 1952by OneSweetSinComment: Great shot. This has lovely subdued tones - very crisp too. The background is strange - is it a mountain with subtle skyline? |

Alex, through the shower doorby DiamondPeteComment: A creative alternative (one that also crossed mymind) and nicely done.
It's unfortunate that you have so much glare from the light above and I wonder if you actually needed it on? There seems to be suffiicient light elesewhere.
To avoid it I would experiment with hue and saturation to reduce the yellow cast or, as a last resort go mono with it, which may have the added effect of making the subject more abstract. |
