Nicely observed but not entirely pleasing shot due to the soft focus and washed-out colours. the composition is spot-on but you really need to work on the focus and depth of field to get the most out of a macro.

Nice vibe from this - I like the general feel and the composition. This would look good on a wall as a supersize poster in a Hoxton Square bar - deceivingly cool shot.

Very busy shot, but it's different and quite a brave submission. The more I look at this the more I like it in fact. I'm not keen on the darker, gloomier colours mind, but I hope this does better than I expect and that people spend some time to look at it a little longer.

It's a close-up and focused but there's something lacking in interest here. I think if you're depth of field were almost complete from front to back this would look very good indeed. I also feel that filling the frame more (still offset to right) would involve the viewer more. Dark areas look a bit too burned and indistinct.

This is quite gloomy and I'm left wondering what I'm looking at and why. The image is not close enough to show detail normally unseen, so ultimately it's quite bland.

Nicely lit but ultimately quite dull. I try to aim for shots I'd like to hang and that will appeal to me outside of the challenge. While you may be a fan of this camera it's not a shot that many people will enthuse about.

This is not a gecko - it's an anolis lizard. Not a bad shot but you are too far away from your subject to be 'involved' in the shot and we are missing the interesting detail in the lizard's skin. The bark is noce though!
