Nuit Américaineby jjbeguinComment: You learn a new thing everyday. I was scared to try this technique in case the DPC mob arrived to burn my house down once they discovered I'd 'cheated', but you seem okay! |

I did receive your pm after I left this comment, which should really have appeared here after the challenge. One of these days I'm going to change my preferences to anonymous commenting... Anyway, I didn't mean you should have taken a photo of something else, but that IMO you should have INCLUDED something else in this shot. You've taken a photo of something many of us at DPC have seen and composed it dead centre. What do YOU think raises this shot above a snapshot? |

Reputationby clarmoreComment: Oh, I really love this photo... what a wonderful quote!
Are you going to correct your 2 typos though? Let me know if and when, as I want to add it to my favourites. |

Audience of None...by kcumanComment: Love the figure about to exit the frame. Wish it wasn't slightly overexposed though. I really like the guitar's composition. Figure's slumped shoulders helps make this shot interesting. |

Canal Side Bistroby benhurComment: Composition seems unimaginative, and I don't see why the top of the door on the right was cropped off. Well done for trying a slightly different angle though... ie near the floor. The shot doesn't really capture me though or make me interested in the scene. |

The face inside the catchers maskby twm122Comment: Snapshot with an unimaginative composition and an awkward expression. Good idea to use fill in flash, but the helmet has resulted in shadows being cast on the face. I would have experimented with unusual angles, perhaps from the side cropping in tightly into the eyes. This would have given more of an atmosphere of resolve and determination rather than a sheepish smile which is not really in keeping with the outfit. |

Alternate Realitiesby beamsclanComment: Lovely idea, but the composition is a bit too cluttered... ideally the figures should have a light background without detail just behind them. I realise you have no control over these things here, but I would have just not taken the shot and looked out for it in the future with a different shop. |
